Lampwork
Lampwork beadmaking is a type of glasswork that dates to ancient times, but was popularized in the 14th century in Murano, Italy. Until a few decades ago, lampwork bead techniques were not widely known, with most lampwork beads produced by Italian and Bohemian lampworkers. Modern lampwork beads are created using a flame torch and specialized tools, enabling the artist to achieve intricately designed, extremely durable art glass beads.
